Snow is fun and leads to lovely experiences - I even went tobogganing last night; it was great fun.
Ice is not fun - check out this video of a man hitting the deck pretty hard.
Now, its worth remembering that the pavements are owned by (generally) the local councils - if you hurt yourself (in whatever condition) they are in - there is a massive chance you might be entitled some compensation through a personal injury claim thank in part to the councils negligence in cleaning the roads and pavements properly!
